Pulsevis is point of sale software for shops that sell over a counter, installed on your own Windows PC. Sales, stock and customer records are kept on that PC, so when the connection goes down you keep billing, printing receipts and updating stock as normal.
Why offline matters

Pulsevis is a desktop app that reads and writes to your own PC rather than a server, so an outage is something you notice on the router, not at the till.
A sale is saved straight to the database on your PC. There is no server round-trip between the customer and the receipt, so a dropped router does not freeze the counter.
Products, prices and stock levels are read from the same PC. Search a partial name or tap a tile and the item is in the basket, online or not.
Staff sign in with their PIN, take payment and hand over a printed receipt as usual. Nobody has to write bills on paper and type them in later.
What you can do offline
The whole counter, with no connection at all.
All of this runs on your PC. Where a feature is only on Premium, the card says so.
Search by name or tap a product tile, apply a discount and hold a sale for later. Barcode scanning is included on Premium.
Cash, card or online, or a split across them. Pulsevis records the payment rather than processing cards itself, so the till never waits on a payment gateway.
Print to any 58 or 80 mm thermal printer installed in Windows, or save a receipt as an image on the PC.
Stock falls as you sell. Record new stock, remove stock and set low-stock alerts. You can also record batch and expiry dates, which are on every plan.
Add a customer or attach one to a sale. Purchase history and loyalty points are on Premium.
Daily sales and shift reports are built from the data on your PC. Free keeps 7 days of sales history, and full reports are on Premium.
What needs a connection
A short list, and none of it is part of making a sale.

Your data, stored on your PC
Offline works because the data is on your PC rather than a server. Your sales, stock and customer records are kept in a database file on the computer at your counter.
- An automatic backup when the app starts and every 24 hours after, with the last 7 kept
- A manual backup to a USB stick or any folder you choose, and restore from it
- The local database is not encrypted, so protect the PC with a Windows password and keep backup drives safe
- Free does not sync your sales, stock or customer records anywhere
- On Premium, the store data needed for sync is also stored on Pulsevis servers
What happens when you're back online
On Premium, the computers in your store catch up with each other on their own. On Free there is nothing to sync, and nothing to wait for.
- Sync starts automatically on Premium, so there is nothing to switch on
- Changes made offline wait in a queue on the PC and are sent once the connection returns
- While online, each computer syncs about every 30 seconds. It is regular, but not instant
- While offline, each counter sells from its own copy, so the counters catch up with each other once they reconnect
- If two computers edit the same record, the more recent change is kept

Does Pulsevis POS work without internet?
Yes. The app and your store data are installed on your own Windows PC, so selling, stock, customers, receipts and reports keep working with no connection at all.
Can I keep making sales while offline?
Yes. Every sale is saved to the PC as it happens. On Premium it is also queued and synced to your other computers once the connection returns.
Does offline mode work on the free trial?
Yes. Offline operation is the same on Free and Premium. Free is limited to one computer, one user, 15 products and 7 days of sales history.
What happens when the internet comes back?
On Free, nothing changes: your data was never waiting on a server. On Premium, queued changes are sent and the other computers' changes are pulled in, and this repeats about every 30 seconds while you are online.
Does a Premium computer ever need to go online?
Once, to activate your license key. After that, sync keeps the license current whenever the computer is online. If a Premium computer stays offline for around a month, sync pauses and you may need to re-enter your key in Settings once it reconnects. Selling is not affected.
Does it need Windows?
Yes. Pulsevis is a desktop app for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It does not run in a browser, which is what lets it work offline.
